Here is today’s challenge
Find a project that uses broadcasting and remix it. For example, you could remix this pass-it-on project that we started. (Remember, if you get stuck, find inspiration and support in the Teaching with Scratch Facebook group, our list of Getting Unstuck strategies, or on Twitter at #CreativeComputing.)
Add your Scratch projectto this studio to share how you approached today’s challenge. Then, check out and comment on some other examples in the studio!
Take a moment to reflect on your creative process in the Notes and Credits section of your project. How did remixing help you? What questions do you still have about remixing?
What I’m thinking and doing
I’ve used broadcast blocks a ton and really know how they work. I ran out of time, it is the weekend, so I just did the remix of 3 Favorite things, although mine were my 3 favorite concerts this year. I’m grabbing animated gifs and music samples for fun. I’m not learning a whole lot about Scratch with this challenge, but I am learning how to structure a collaborative pr0ject, that I could use next year. Well that said, trying to do the add on project was frustrating too. I had to replay the whole project from the beginning each time just to test and debug my project. I went ahead and did my 3 things separately, and if time permits later, I’ll incorporate it into the 3 things pass it on project. This project took me a lot of time, even when I changed it. I got 2/3 of the way through it, was sick of it, but was too far to put it down. I kept working on it so it could be “complete” but still need to work out a few things, and find a Fantastic Negrito song to add. Please follow and like us:
